Bon Odori 2011
04:20I was meaning to blog this a lot earlier but I kept procrastinating and then somewhat forgotten about it. ><
Wanted to blog this last week when I though I was already free from exams and assignments but then the lecturers gave us even more assignments to do. sigh..
Not yet done with all the assignments but at least I got time to blog now.
Anyways, back to the topic.
Bon Odori (盆踊り ), meaning simply Bon dance is a style of dancing performed during Obon. The theme for this year's Bon Odori which wan held on 11th July was Arigatou Malaysia.
In Malaysia, Bon Odori Festivals are also celebrated every year in Penang and at the Matsushita Corp Stadium in Shah Alam, Selangor. . In comparison to the celebrations in Japan, the festival is celebrated on a much smaller scale in Penang and Selangor, and is less associated with Buddhism and more with Japanese culture. Held mainly to expose locals to a part of Japanese culture, the festival provides the experience of a variety of Japanese food and drinks, art and dance. -wikipedia.org
PeiYee and I woke up early so we could take the bus from school down to KL despite coming back home at midnight the day before. Actually I overslept. I hit the snooze button and went back to sleep (yea, I know. I tend to sleep a lot. =_= ) but good thing PeiYee went to call me up or I might have missed the bus.
The bus to KL was actually organized by the school's Anime Club for members and non-members alike to participate in Bon Odori.
PeiYee with the schedule for the day.
Our first destination was Berjaya Times Square as Bon Odori doesn't start until the evening so that means SHOPPING!
Lunch at Teppanyaki
Just trying out an artistic shot of our order
Both of us ordered chicken teppanyaki
They should have called it beam sprout teppanyaki instead. There were more bean sprout than chicken on the plate. But nonetheless, quite a fulfilling lunch.
Side order of sushi
A picture of the blogger in case you forget who she is

Back to the bus and off to Matsushita Corp Stadium aka Panasonic Stadium for Bon Odori!
Here we are! The stage where they will be performing later on
The Indian uncle who graciously let me take a photo of him
So jealous of the little girls skin. T^T
The tallest guy we saw there
好幸福哦~
The future models of MMU. lol
I also want to look professional with my dslr. ><
My dinner for the night -fishball laksa soba.
The soba was the best! I wish I could have another bowl right now.
Initially I never thought that there were a lot of people until I saw this picture. omg... There's a sea of people surrounding the stage!
I didn't take much picture during the event so that's all for now.
Bye.
